The idea behind the Music Time sessions is to build up babies' communication skills by playing them various common sounds in the hope it will nurture NURTURE. The act of taking care of children and educating them: the right to the nurture of children generally belongs to the father till the child shall arrive at the age of fourteen years, and not longer. Till then, he is guardian by nurture. Co. Litt. 38 b.  speech and development.

Though extremely popular in America the classes, funded in Birmingham by Highbury Childrens' Centre, are still catching on in the UK and Birmingham is thought to be one of few cities embracing such an approach.

The free sessions, open to parents living in B13 and B14 post codes, are aimed at babies under 12 months.

Four classes, each lasting 30 minutes, will take place at Kings Heath Kings Heath is a suburb of Birmingham, England, three miles south of the city centre. It is the next 'village' south from Moseley on the Alcester Road. The central shopping area runs along the High Street and Alcester Road, and the shops include branches of national chain stores,  library, in High Street, from 2pm every Tuesday.
