A monstrous effort to help adult learners.


FRANKENSTEIN'S monster, a nun and a caveman are helping to encourage adults in South Wales South Wales south nsud m du Pays de Galles  to further their education.

The characters have been created for this year's recruitment drive by Coleg Glan Hafren Coleg Glan Hafren''' is a Further Education college based in Cardiff. The college has over 12,000 students and provides over 800 courses, including Business Studies, Media Studies, Sociology, History and Law. , in Cardiff.

The cartoon adverts aim to challenge stereotypical views on what courses people should do.

They feature a nun learning about automotive mechanics, Frankenstein's monster with a hairdryer and scissors, a caveman on his laptop, an astronaut managing an office, a boxer child-minding, and sleeping beauty Sleeping Beauty

 with an arc welder. The adverts feature all of the courses the college offers.

It follows on from last year's Pigeonholed campaign, which was fronted by a pigeon called Alex and won the Highly Commended Award in the College Marketing Network's FE First Awards.

Nigel Hallett, Coleg Glan Hafren director of strategic planning and business development, said: "As Cardiff's College, we feel a duty to show the wide spread of courses we can offer, for a broad spectrum of learners."
