A message from the USFAA Chairman of the Board.

Dear Fellow Redleg,

As you may have read recently in the FA Journal, the Chief of Field Artillery has approved changes in Saint Barbara Saint Barbara, known as the Great Martyr Barbara in the Orthodox church, was a Christian saint and martyr, who lived in the third century. Her story
The hagiography of Saint Barbara says that she was born about 300 A.D. in Nicomedia, Bithynia in Asia Minor.
and Molly Pitcher approving authorities as well as changes in the formation of US Field Artillery Association (USFAA USFAA United States Federal Aviation Administration ) chapters, consistent with Army Transformation.

level and above commanders are now authorized to approve Saint Barbara and Molly Pitcher awards for personnel assigned/associated with their units when no COL is available. Ancient Order approval remains with the Fort Sill Fort Sill, U.S. military reservation, Comanche co., SW Okla., 4 mi (6.4 km) N of Lawton; est. 1869 by Gen. Philip Sheridan. A 95,000-acre (38,445-hectare) field artillery and missile base, it is the home of the U.S. Army Artillery and Missile Center.  Commanding General, as well as approval for Saint Barbara and Molly Pitcher for those personnel who do not have a unit association.

Regarding the USFAA's 87 chapters, as each Corps Artillery, FA Brigade and Divarty structure transitions in concert with Army Transformation, their chapters will transition to battalion-level. Fires Brigade headquarters may opt to either have their own chapter, affiliate with a collocated battalion chapter or combine chapters under the Fires Brigade headquarters.

Your unit has or will soon complete transition. As such, I highly encourage you to create a stand-alone chapter to help you and the proud Field Artillerymen in your unit continue the spirit and traditions of the Field Artillery. We have everything you need to start a battalion--level chapter. Our staff can send it to you or this information is available online on our website at www.fieldartillery.org. I invite you to contact the USFAA Membership Department at membership@fieldartillery.org (580) 355-4677 or (866) 355-4677 who can walk you through the easy process of forming a new chapter.

We are only as strong as our membership and your dedication to your professional association will help perpetuate its rich heritage, as well as its many initiatives. Some of the initiatives include scholarships to USFAA members and their family members, recognition awards to the FA OBC OBC Other Backward Classes
OBC Ontario Building Code
OBC On Board Computer
OBC Organization for Bat Conservation
OBC Outline Business Case (UK government procurement)
OBC Oriental Bank of Commerce (India)

distinguished graduates, support for Field Artillery balls, Saint Barbara and Molly Pitcher awards, and, of course, Chapter Grants. Grants to USFAA chapters help them stay active and promote the mission and legacy of the Field Artillery.

We can help your new USFAA chapter start strong during this period of transformation. For example, we have resources available that you can use to ensure a successful membership drive for your unit, which is especially important as you transform. Our Managing Director, Amy Ewing-Holmstrom, and her staff are ready and eager to help you with chapter formation, membership drives and any other concerns you may have as you start your new chapter.

Sincerely,
