A message from the President.

Welcome to the 57th Annual NSCAA NSCAA National Soccer Coaches Association of America (since 1941; Mission, Kansas)
NSCAA National Small College Athletic Association
Convention in Charlotte, NC, and the culmination of a year in which we have celebrated The Family of Soccer. Hail to the Family Reunion Often an annual event, a family reunion takes place on a specified day each year for the purpose of keeping an extended family closer together. Some reunions may be held less often. ! It was a year full of exciting events. But the Women's World Cup The Women's World Cup could refer to either the:

  • UCI Women's Road World Cup
  • Women's Cricket World Cup
  • Women's Rugby World Cup
had to take center stage. Being held in the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area.  for the second consecutive time, it once again displayed the strength of soccer in our country.

to see the women who made headlines in 1999 shed tears of disappointment. But that is the nature of competition. It is the part of athletics that I consider the classroom of life.

Our women had struggled and trained in anonymity, shouldered the burden of championing the sport, and then, heartbreakingly, lost. But that is sport. And now they must dig into Verb 1. dig into - examine physically with or as if with a probe; "probe an anthill"

How fortunate we are to have a sport that bridges gender, ethnicity, race, and athletic ability so masterfully mas·ter·ful

and meaningfully. As the sport has grown in this country, so have the groups involved in it multiplied.

Competition and economics challenge the unity and the strength of the family. And as we gather in Charlotte, my hope is that we come together, celebrate the sport, and celebrate the people that are part of OUR family.

The NSCAA exists to serve this family of soccer through education and the encouragement of excellence in the sport. The annual convention is our reunion, our gathering place to share stories and learn from shared experiences. Clinics, lectures and presentations provide a wealth of knowledge--take advantage and learn.

Understand as well that every hallway discussion is educational and that several bar napkin napkin See Sanitary napkin.  sketches can be just as educational as a PowerPoint presentation.

The annual convention is also a time to reflect on the year and recognize the significant achievements and contributions of our colleagues and the players they coach. Make it a point this year to attend the lunch, dinner or breakfast dedicated to your arena. Honor your colleagues and the sport by recognizing the effort and the dedication others have given to the sport.

Celebrate with us at the NSCAA Awards Dinner--consider it a family obligation!

We thank the city of Charlotte for hosting our family gathering and I thank you for coming and sharing your experiences with us. Enjoy Charlotte, enjoy the NSCAA, and enjoy each other.

Sincerely,

Janet Rayfield

NSCAA President
