A message from the Mayor of the City of Sault Ste. Marie. (Influential Women).


On behalf of City Council and the citizens of Sault Ste. Marie Sault Sainte Marie — pronounced "Soo Saint Marie" (IPA /su seɪnt məˈɹi/) — is the name of two cities on the Saint Marys River, which forms part of the boundary between the United States and Canada. , I am delighted to extend a warm naturally gifted greeting Greeting is a way for humans[1] to intentionally communicate awareness of each other's presence, to show attention to, and/or to affirm or suggest a type of relationship or social status between individuals or groups of people coming in contact with  to the participants of the 2002 Northern Ontario Business Northern Ontario Business is a Canadian magazine, which publishes monthly in Greater Sudbury, Ontario. The magazine covers business news and issues in Northern Ontario.  Influential Women Awards Luncheon.

We are very proud and pleased to be hosting this important event in our community which celebrates the contributions of women leaders from across Northern Ontario Northern Ontario is the part of the province of Ontario which lies north of Lake Huron (including Georgian Bay), the French River and Lake Nipissing.

It is wonderful to see women in business from the public and private sectors being recognized and awarded for their achievements that are so significant in building our economy and society throughout the North.

I trust you will relax and take time to tour our beautiful waterfont city located at the Heart of the Heritage Coast; an international city that shares a border with our Michigan twin sister city of Sault Ste. Marie. Please come again to visit and enjoy our many attractions and friendly hospitality.

John Rowswell John Rowswell is the current mayor of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. He was first elected in the 2000 municipal election, defeating Steve Butland, and in 2006 he was re-elected for his third term with approximately 56.5% of the vote.[1]
