Dominic Miller, the musicians' musician, tells David Whetstone about his role in the forthcoming International Guitar Festival.

Dominic Miller performs at 3pm on Saturday at the Customs House, South Shields, after leading a workshop at 11.45am.

The festival begins tomorrow with Eugene `Hideaway' Bridges and continues with Midge midge, name for any of numerous minute, fragile flies in several families. The family Chironomidae consists of about 2,000 species, most of which are widely distributed. The herbivorous larvae are found in all freshwaters; the larvae of some species live in saltwater.  Ure on Wednesday, Graham Gouldman of 10cc on Thursday, Julie Ellison, Martin Taylor and Martin Simpson ( all also on Saturday ( and Michael Roach next Sunday.
