A look at the numbers.A couple weeks ago, we looked at the summer Arbitron Inc. ratings for radio stations. For total audience--people aged 12 to dead--Citadel Broadcasting Corp.'s Little Rock operation placed three stations in the top five: KOKY, 102.1-FM, took second with a 6.9 share; KIPR KIPR Kiss Institute for Practical Robotics , 92.3-FM, "Power 92" tied for third with a 6.4 share; and KLAL, 107.7-FM, "Alice" scored a 6.2 share, placing it fifth. Now for a look at how the broadcaster's five stations did among their target audiences. * The broadcaster's soul station, KOKY, targets women aged 25-54, according to according to prep. 1. As stated or indicated by; on the authority of: according to historians. 2. In keeping with: according to instructions. 3. Randy The name Randy generally derives from the names Randall or Randolph (meaning wolf with a shield). Randy is used as a given name primarily in the US and Canada. Men known as Randy

* KURB, known as "B98.5", also saw a book-to-book jump in share, but the year-over-year numbers showed a decline. The station targets women aged 35-44 and captured a 10.3 share among the group from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., ranking it No. 1 in the demographic. The 10.3 share is a four-point decline from the summer of 2007. * Alice also focuses on women, but seeks those aged 18-34. From 6 a.m. to midnight, the station had a 12.8 share for the summer book, ranking it No. 1. The share jumped up from summer 2007's 9.5 share. * KIPR, "Power 92 Jams", attempts to bring in the young audience as well, focusing on adults aged 18-34. In the demo demo - /de'moh/ 1. A demo is a far more effective way of inducing bugs to manifest themselves than any number of test runs, especially when important people are watching. 2. demo version. 3. , Power 92 scored an 11.7 share, which bested No. 2 KLAL's 11 share. The performance placed Power 92 first in the adults aged 18-34 demo, but its share dropped from a 14.6 in summer 2007. KIPR also took second for women in that age range, with an 11.5 share. * Finally, the broadcaster's news talk station, KARN, 102.9-FM/920-AM, captured a 7.8 share this summer for men aged 35-64, placing it third in the demo. The station's share fell from a 10.7 in summer 2007. |
