A longer shelf life for bananas.


Amcor P-Plus modified atmosphere Modified atmosphere is a common technical definition that describes the practice of modifying the composition of the internal atmosphere of a package (commonly food packages, but this technique is also used for drugs) in order to improve the shelf life.  packaging (MAP) technology from Amcor Flexibles has been chosen by Chiquita--the international marketer, producer and distributor of fresh fruit--for its value and fun-size banana packs which it supplies to supermarket giant Tesco.

Amcor P-Plus MAP technology works by tailoring the gas permeability permeability /per·me·a·bil·i·ty/ (per?me-ah-bil´i-te) the property or state of being permeable.
