A lively essay.

One of the teachers at Western Middle School in Parma, Mich., was exhausted from grading dozens of writing samples from a new countywide standardized assessment. But she came back to life after reading the following work from one of the district's special-needs students:

"I was determined to go to Ceader Point but I could not Because I had food posiening and I was really sick. So over Spring Break in 05 my mom took me too Florida with my uncle Jhon and my anut Laurie and my little sister Mykala, my step-dad Al, me and my cousin Carrie. I was so esiced and also it was my uncle Jhon's Birthday so we got to go to Crabby Bill's it was really good and so was the shrimp.

"Our hotel that we stayed at was on a hill, my morn had so many strawberry dacuries, that my mom could not get up the hill. She was determined not to have that many but she did anyway. She also learned not to get a hotel on a hill, that's next to a place that sells strawberry dacuries."
