Ferguson (U. of St. Andrew) traces the Venetian dialect dialect, variety of a language used by a group of speakers within a particular speech community. He begins by setting out the features that distinguish it from mainstream Italian today, then goes back to the earliest records, about 1200 AD, and follows the changes up to the present. No index is provided. The publisher in based in Florence, Italy and currently has no US distributor.
