A letter to President Bush.* I am outraged, outraged beyond belief! Even with the after-taste of your opposition to concurrent receipt still lingering bitterly, even then you are ready to hand over to the African nations the staggering sum of $15 billion--an amount, incidentally, greater than what it would cost to fund concurrent receipt. What an incomprehensible affront to the legitimate grievances of disabled military retirees. This sudden philanthropic desire that you have to remedy the miseries of other nations is perplexing. Even compassion must necessarily yield to logical restraints. I strongly urge you, sir, to rid yourself of your apparent antipathy for retired military veterans. Do not shun their concerns any longer. Continue to do so, and I assure you that when scrupulous historians are finished with you that ranch you own in Texas may not be remote enough to escape from your disgrace. Please think the matter over more carefully. Very sincerely yours, SFC Ricardo Chapa, USA (Ret), Alice, Texas This poor soul needs to put his Thesaurus away and spend his time hoping he can find the common sense he lost when he wrote this garbage.
