The lean method is a technique of maximizing the exchange of value in a business or, in this case, high-volume operations such as hospitals, clinics, and medical offices. Here Zidel uses the example of his work at one clinic to guide similar organizations in the implementation of lean tools. Evaluating the current system, identifying the need for change, and implementing changes that save time and increase the value received by the patient are among the main strategies discussed. The book also includes an introduction to the Six Sigma Not to be confused with Sigma 6.
Six Sigma is a set of practices originally developed by Motorola to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects.[1] A defect is defined as nonconformity of a product or service to its specifications.
