A journey to Bavaria: once upon a time there was a fairy tale king ...It is not easy to say where Bavaria actually is--perhaps best to say "somewhere between Germany and Austria" would be correct but still inaccurate. Whether Bavaria belongs to Germany or not, is a question many Bavarians don't exactly know the answer. They still like to hear the traditional name of "the Free State of Bavaria" which expresses a long lost independence still painfully missed by some. Also, the time of the Bavarian kings is long gone--their superstar King of Bavaria, Ludwig II, is even well known in America! However the love of their king was not always unclouded! Because of his fantastic dreams, which caused an aesthetic delirium delirium Condition of disorientation, confused thinking, and rapid alternation between mental states. The patient is restless, cannot concentrate, and undergoes emotional changes (e.g., anxiety, apathy, euphoria), sometimes with hallucinations. of building, Ludwig II lost popularity with his subjects and was no longer their favorite king and was even considered insane. Before he could complete his Gralsburg Castle Neuschwanstein and ruin Bavaria, he involuntarily drowned in Lake Starnberg Today the Bavarians understand their king and Ludwig II is again their favorite. With the highly-priced admission fees from castle visitors from around the world he is compensating the Bavarians more than adequately for what he took in the 19th Century. The fact that the Bavarians refer to him with gratitude as the "Fairy Tale fairy tale Simple narrative typically of folk origin dealing with supernatural beings. Fairy tales may be written or told for the amusement of children or may have a more sophisticated narrative containing supernatural or obviously improbable events, scenes, and personages King" would have definitely pleased him. Contrary to a host of prejudices, Bavarians can do more than crochet and drink beer. There are a lot of good photographers there as well as lots of other nice and clever people, making the destination a desirable one. Bavaria is an exotic German state with rustic entertainment in fairly-tale surroundings. Usually trips to Bavaria would have been filled with sunshine, but this photographer's last trip was a watery one--three days of constant rain, and because everything in Bavaria is that little bit heavier than elsewhere, it was easy to feel what King Ludwig felt when the water was up to his neck. A simple plastic bag saved the Nikon equipment from "death-by-drowning!" No need to put an early end to a trip and leave the location, for wet weather in Bavaria does not necessarily mean bad pictures. Consider those shared in these pages and shoot photos regardless of the weather encountered. Joachim W.
