A breeze rippled through the grass. Black Bear's nose twitched. She sniffed the air. A storm was coming! Black Bear hurried off into the forest. Thunder rumbled in the distance, and dark clouds dark cloud

Rain fell. Soon small drops became bigger ones. The wind whistled through the forest. At the top of the hill, a dead pine tree bent and swayed. CRAAACK! The tree toppled to the ground. Dirt, loosened by the fallen tree, tumbled down the hill. It almost covered the hole at the bottom.

The storm clouds cleared. Brown Mouse finished her lunch and scurried back to the hole. She smiled to herself.

"I'm glad I found this hole before someone else did. I'm sure that if it were a little bit bigger, it would make a perfect home for me." So she began to dig.
