A high-flying time: Ronald Mays zips through the air with jets of his own.


Ronald Mays is soaring on cloud nine. He has a super-successful business, was named CLACK ENTERPRISE'S 2002 Emerging Company of the Year, and he's on his way to starting a commercial airline.

In 2000, Mays, 39, launched Montgomery Jet Center in Montgomery, Alabama Montgomery is the capital and second most populous city of the U.S. state of Alabama and the county seat of Montgomery County. Montgomery is notable for its historic involvement during the Civil War, for being the first capital of the Confederacy, and for being a primary site in . "1 started the company because I had a passion for flying and wanted to fill a niche," he says, "I've always believed that man was not designed to make a living, but to live his making."

Montgomery Jet Center offers a wide range of services, from plane chartering to pilot staffing.
