Studies in the Dead Sea scrolls and related literature

Z6371

Fitzmyer (emeritus biblical studies, Catholic U. of America, DC) explains the various sigla that are used for texts and fragments found in the Wadi Qumran, elsewhere along the north coast of the Dead Sea, and the Genizah in Old Cairo. He indicates where each text can be found in its first published edition, and cites selections from the voluminous secondary literature on the texts. Most of the texts were first published during the decade after 1990, when the first edition of this study was published by Scholars Press. A still earlier version was published as The Dead Sea Scrolls: Major Publications and Tools for Study by the Society of Biblical Literature and Scholars Press in 1975.
