A good chime is had by all...


THE bells that ring out in Halesowen are 300 years old and to mark the occasion Halesowen Parish Church Change Ringing Society has organised a series of events throughout June.

Local MP Sylvia Heal Sylvia Lloyd Heal MP (born July 20, 1942) is a British politician. She is Labour Member of Parliament for Halesowen and Rowley Regis and is the First Deputy Chairman of Ways and Means and Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons.  attended the annual ringers' morning service on Sunday.

And on Saturday there will be a mobile belfry belfry

Bell tower, either freestanding or attached to another structure. More particularly it refers to the room, usually at the top of such a tower, where the bells and their supporting timberwork are hung.
 set up in Somers Square, in Halesowen town centre, where demonstrations by local ringers will take place.

There will also be an opportunity for people to visit the ringing room in the church, where refreshments will be available.
