 by Stephen Malatratt, opens at 8 p.m. Friday at the Cottage Theatre, 700 Village Drive, Cottage Grove Cottage Grove, village (1990 pop. 22,935), Washington co., SE Minn., near the St. Croix River; inc. 1965. There is farming (cattle, sheep, corn, and soybeans) and manufacturing (chemicals and machinery). .

Based on a 1983 novel by Susan Hill Susan Hill (born February 5, 1942) is a British popular writer of fiction and non fiction. Her novels have been best sellers, and she remains best known for her ghost story The Woman in Black. , the play tells the story of an aging lawyer who hires a young actor to tutor him. The lawyer wants to recount a story of events in his distant past that have deeply troubled him. Among his memories is a mysterious woman in black.

Co-directing are Jesse Runde and Bryan Scott Bryan Anderson Scott (born April 13, 1981 in Warrington Township, Pennsylvania) is an American football safety who currently plays for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League. . Scott also plays one of the two roles. The other actor is Davis Smith.

Performances continue Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 10. Friday and Saturday curtain time is 8 p.m.; Sunday matinees begin at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $13, $12 for students and seniors. Call 942-8001 or go to www.cottagetheatre .org.
