A fond farewell.I'M USUALLY VERY WELL ORGANIZED, but lately I've been forgetting things a lot: leaving the stove on for hours, misplacing shoes, forgetting to take my pills in the morning. The thing is, my brain has been a whirlpool whirlpool, revolving current in an ocean, river, or lake. It may be caused by the configuration of the shore, irregularities in the bottom of the body of water, the meeting of opposing currents or tides, or the action of the wind upon the water. of mixed emotions ever since I was first approached, less than a month ago, about leaving Contemporary. The bad news: I won't be working with my friends and colleagues here. This crew does a wonderful job, and they have a good time doing it. Now that I'll be just another reader, I look forward to seeing what they'll come up with next. Elise Nakhnikian Editor-in-chief I KNOW I SHARE THE SENTIMENT OF many when I say I'm sure glad Elise Nakhnikian jumped into the long term care waters five years ago. As editor-in-chief of Contemporary, she helped turn a magazine at a turning point into an award-winning publication--a voice that truly speaks to and for administrators, owners, nurses, nursing assistants, and many others working in the field of long term care. Elise and I have collaborated closely over the last five years, and I'll sure miss her insights and infectious laugh. But as the magazine's executive editor, I look forward to taking the magazine forward with our talented edit team and contributing writers. Next month, look for the launch of our new end page, Portrait.
