A fond farewell; GRIDIRON: Britbowl champions hand out their awards.


CASSIDY Jets head coach Gerry McManus ended his five-year stint on a high when he paraded the freshly-engraved Boston Trophy The Boston Trophy is the trophy awarded each year to the winning team of the British American Football League's (BAFL) annual Premier Division Championship game, BritBowl and is BAFL's most prestigious award.  at the club's awards night.

Jeremy Simms landed the coaches player of the year award Several sports leagues honor their best player with an award called Player of the Year. In the United States, this type of award is usually called a Most Valuable Player award. The awards with the "player of the year" phrasing include these.  for his outstanding displays throughout the season while fellow wideout Mark Cohen scooped the prize for the best offensive player.

Running back Steve Coles departed for Germany with the players' player prize while Britbowl hero Fraser Houston collected the rookie of the year award Rookie of the Year award is newly established in 1985 that third season in K-League. Many star palyers were received this award such as Lee Dong-Gook, Lee Chun-Soo, and so on. , Club secretary and acting general manager Adam Etheridge was handed the Presidents Award for his off the field contributions.

The evening at the Britannia Hotel began with the inaugural flag awards - Neil Balthazaar securing player of the year with Shadrach McCook received the plaque for coaches' player.

Rookie of the year Rookie of the Year may refer to:

 was split between Rob Coleman and Steve Timmins.

The kitted team awards began with the linemen of the year, Pete Cowler took the offensive plaudits for the second straight time while defensive end Kevin Mills capped a tremendous comeback season with the defensive award.

Overall, the gong for best defensive player went to inside linebacker Alistair Bailey who enjoyed a superb domestic campaign after his dominant performances in Europe.

With 2008 now consigned to the record books the Cassidy Jets begin the difficult task of appointing McManus's successor who will be charged with plotting the Jets third straight European campaign as well as defending the British crown.
