A first for French sculptress in Little Venice.[ILLUSTRATION OMITTED] French sculptor Nathalie Decoster's first ever public installation in the UK is on display for the next five months, as Clifton Nurseries hosts a selection of her work within the surroundings of London's oldest garden centre and canal-side garden at Little Venice. Decoster is one of the art scene's most famous figures in her native France and her work has earned worldwide renown. She creates huge, outdoor sculptures in bronze, aluminum and various other materials such as wood shavings shavings curly wafers of wood produced when trimming wood with a plane; used as bedding for horses. See also sawdust. and glass cloches. Her work brings form to some of life's complex subjects, in her reflections of the cycle of life and death, of nature and the passing of time. She has been commissioned by clients all over the world. In her native Paris her monumental sculptures have been on exhibit in the Courtyard at the Crillon Hotel, Place de la Concorde La Concorde is the national anthem of Gabon. Written and composed by Georges Aleka Damas, it was adopted upon independence in 1960. French lyrics
