The photo was taken in about 1900 and shows an early fire enginewhich ran on steam, a very different vehicle to the ones of today.

It was submitted as residents in towns across the county battle to save their local fire stations after Warwickshire Fire and Rescue service announced plans to axe seven stations.

Stations in Warwick, Studley, Fenny Compton Fenny Compton is a village in Warwickshire, England, about eight miles north of Banbury. Its church of St. Peter and St. Clare was built in the 14th century. Fenny Compton is small but had two stations, one on the Great Western Railway route from Oxford to Birmingham, the other , Bidford, Brinklow, Kenilworth and Bedworth are all under threat.

George Seymour, who is on the far left of the photo, was born in 1878 and died in 1951.

He tackled fires in Rugby before becoming a police officer.

His days as a policeman were also captured on camera, and Mr Seymour can be spotted on the front row of the police photo, second in from the right.

He and his wife Lotte with whom he had three children, also ran a laundrette laundrette launder (Brit) nWaschsalon m  together in the Hillmorton area of the town.

Mr Hayden, aged 73, also submitted a mysterious photo which he found in the toolbox See toolkit and toolbar.  he bought when he was an apprentice A person who agrees to work for a specified time in order to learn a trade, craft, or profession in which the employer, traditionally called the master, assents to instruct him or her.  in the city.

The retired model maker believes it was taken in about 1920 and shows a group of men working on a wooden car in Coventry.

John said: "This was in a large toolbox, which I think must have belonged to the person who had it before me.

"I imagine the previous owner is in the photo and I hope someone will be able to help me find out more about it.

"It must be really old because the cars they are making are out of wood."

He is appealing for anyone with information about the find to contact him.
