A different kind of park access.


In a sign that the modern world is pretty much everywhere now, California has announced a deal to offer wireless Internet access See how to access the Internet.  points in 85 state parks.

A state official told The Times he envisions people will use the technology to learn about campgrounds and safey information. One site is now accessible in a state park in San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. San Diego includes the unincorporated communities of La Jolla and Spring Valley. Coronado is across the bay. ; others will be ready by May.

SBC said it had similarly equipped a few parks in Michigan. The Times added that SBC does not yet plan to expand access "beyond the central campgrounds, but in the future might consider placing connections in the farther reaches of the parks."
