A decade of international acclaim; Nostalgia Extra.THE Corps of Drums was the first English marching band Noun 1. marching band - a band that marches (as in a parade) and plays music at the same time band - instrumentalists not including string players to be invited to take part in the famous Macy's Parade for Thanksgiving Day in New York New York, state, United States New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of in 1983. The event was a triumph for the boys and officers with tributes and plaudits from all who saw them. That visit was hosted by our namesake city, Coventry in Connecticut. It would be great to hear from anyone with memories to share with us. The Coventry, USA, band made the return trip to the UK hosted by Coventry the following year. We have built strong bonds of friendship around Europe and the States. In 1986 we were invited to muster a band from former members to play at the Albert Hall and despite advancing years and family responsibilities rehearsals started in earnest and the old boys' band came to life. The old drills and disciplines came flooding back. Like riding a bike really, you never forget. The old boys association has re-formed regularly since then and leads the Kenilworth British Legion parade on Remembrance Sunday. CAPTION(S): BY APPOINTMENT...
