Sports Reporter HUDDERSFIELD bowed out of the EDF Energy EDF Energy is the trading name of EDF Energy Customers plc, an energy company that provides gas and electricity to homes throughout the United Kingdom. It employs over 12,000 people. National Trophy at leading Midlands club Broadstreet. The bitterly disappointing 19-12 defeat means Huddersfield can now concentrate 100% on their so far highly successful bid to establish themselves as a strong National League III force. But that's hardly going to come as much of a consolation to director of rugby Mark Sowerby, who will have been far from impressed by the competency of the display produced by his players on the outskirts of Coventry. Apart from the odd flash of inspiration from Chris Johnson Chris Johnson may refer to: In sports:

In stark contrast to several of Huddersfield's League displays - and particularly lastweek's excellent and highly accomplished 24-9 home triumph over Preston Grasshoppers - the visitors looked loose and lethargic. The rot started within two minutes as winger Perry Pudge Noun 1. pudge - a short fat person endomorph - a heavy person with a soft and rounded body latched on to a loose ball to score an unconvertedtry, and the Yorkshiremen seemed almost incapable of finding a way out of their hole. Admittedly, Huddersfield did manage to respond eight minutes later to level the scores when Johnson's chip over the defence enabled Ben Paxman to run through and level the scores. But that try, and then a solo second-half effort from the inevitable Johnson, proved to be rare highlights on a miserable afternoon. In between those brief moments of hope, the men from Lockwood Park failed to stamp any real authority on the contest, with Broadstreet only too happy to profit from their visitors' generosity. By half-time, the home side had nudged 12-5 ahead, with Nigel Mukarati finishing off some good approach play under the posts for Danny Richards to add the conversion. Johnson's neat step and dummy and then successful conversion within five minutes of the restart suggested the tide may be about to turn. Unfortunately, however, it proved to be a false dawn. Ins tead of providing the hoped-for lift, it was the men from the midlands who found the more positive respose. And when Alex Crofts crossed for another converted try under the posts in the 55th minute it was no more than Broadstreet deserved. It gave the hosts a seven-point lead - and Huddersfield, in truth, never looked like being able to do anything about it. Broadstreet: McGrory; Hunt, Crofts, Challis chal·lis n.
