A colorful look at Clinton history ... the sequel.Byline: Jan Gottesman CLINTON - With such positive response to his first book, "Twice Told Tales of Clinton," Terrance Ingano has compiled a second volume. And, like the first volume, all proceeds will go to the Item Appeal, helping neighbors in need in Clinton, Berlin, Bolton, Lancaster and Sterling. "I heard nothing but good things about the first book," Ingano said. "People used to tell me they clipped clip 1 v. clipped, clip·ping, clips v.tr. 1. To cut, cut off, or cut out with or as if with shears: clip coupons; clipped three seconds off the record. my columns in the Item. The first book - and to some extent the second one also - is like a collection of all those clippings." Volume two includes many columns that Ingano wrote for The Item, which are published under the heading "Strange But True." In addition, there is a chapter of historic photos on the construction of the Wachusett Reservoir Wachusett Reservoir (wôch `sĭt), on the South Branch of the Nashua River, central Mass., NE of Worcester; built 1897–1905. , as well as a chapter devoted to a presentation
Ingano did last spring at the Strand Theatre, chronicling when a
Hollywood movie, "The Heart of a Clinton Girl," was filmed in
town with an all-local cast.
"The presentation was from notes that would have made a huge article," Ingano said, noting the presentation was a successful fundraiser for the Item Appeal. During the intermission and after the presentation, people came up to fill Ingano in on their personal connections to the movie. "Typically, I learn more than I am spouting spout·ing n. "People were coming up to say `my mother was' this actor in the film and `my dad was.' I started putting names with faces. And we even had people bring in more photos associated." In addition to the movie chapter, and other columns that previously ran in The Item, complete with illustrations, there is a chapter of Clinton Historical Society The Clinton Historical Society is a non-profit, all volunteer organization based in Clinton, Connecticut dedicated to preserving the history of the town of Clinton and sharing that history with residents of Clinton and anyone who has interest. With the success of his first volume, which raised several thousand dollars for The Item Appeal a couple of years ago, Sister Sheila Finnigan, president of the Appeal, said the organization is excited about the good that this book will generate. "Your purchase of Terry Ingano's second book will give you not only a delightful reading of our town's history, but will give the Item Appeal an unprecedented boost to our funds for the needy need·y adj. need·i·er, need·i·est 1.
