Students' associate degree-level classes will be offered through Dyersburg State, and their bachelor's-level courses will be offered through the university. The new "2+2" program, which will begin this fall, was announced by the presidents of the two Tennessee Board of Regents The Tennessee Board of Regents as currently constituted is authorized by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly passed in 1972. It supervises all public institutions of higher education in Tennessee not governed by the University of Tennessee system, including four-year campuses, Karen Bowyer of Dyersburg State and Shirley Raines of the university. As nearly 80 students receive their associate degree in nursing from Dyersburg State each year, the nursing division of the 2+2 program has the potential to grow to an enrollment of 160 students.
