A close embrace.


Flickering black-and-white footage of old Buenos Aires Buenos Aires (bwā`nəs ī`rēz, âr`ēz, Span. bwā`nōs ī`rās), city and federal district (1991 pop.  opened Boccatango, the program that Julio Bocca Julio Bocca (b. March 6 1967) is one of the most important ballet dancers of the latter part of the 20th century, and probably the most important Argentine dancer of all time.  brought to the Joyce last summer with members of his company, Ballet Argentino. In Ana Maria Stekelman's choreography, the uplift of ballet gave the classic tango steps of the milonga a new lightness. Men in close embrace Close embrace is a term used in partner dances. It refers to a position where the leader and follower stand facing each other chest-to-chest. The dancers usually stand offset from one another, such that each has his or her right toe in between the toes of his or her partner.  with men evoked the original tango, when social conventions prevented men from dancing with women in this "lewd" dance. Bocca danced a writhing solo with a stepladder and a duet with Cecilia Figaredo in which the two dancers, topless, threw each other around the stage. Music by Piazzolla and Gardel, played by the band Octango, burst off the stage with a youthful energy the audience adored a·dore
