The 2.2 D Diamond Outlander oozed control over the slippery surfaces and, with a selection of drives, offered excellent grip and handling even on very icy roads where lesser vehicles would literally have come unstuck. Yet there is so much more to the Outlander than pure performance. Add saloon-style luxury, top-of-the-range features, outstanding comfort levels and space for all the family along with plenty of luggage and storage compartments and you have an excellent vehicle that fits ably into many classes. So with looks, performance and comfort all for less than pounds 27,000, it would seem the Outlander has everything, but there is more. The Outlander range has the lowest emissions of any seven-seat SUV and some models boast fuel consumption figures of more than 40mpg. Quite an act to follow, but the Shogun LWB LWB Long Wheel Base LWB Love Without Boundaries (Edmond, OK) LWB Greenbrier, WV, USA - Greenbrier Valley Airport (Airport Code) LWB Leary and Wilson Builders LLC (Essex Junction, VT) 3.2-litre Diamond model lived up to all expectations. With prices ranging from pounds 34,849, this diesel-run Shogun is not exactly a vehicle for the economy-conscious driver. But, running-costs aside, the Shogun is one of the most capable off-roaders on the market today. Although there are luxurious touches throughout the cabin such as seat warmers, a rear view camera and cruise control, this vehicle is all about performance . And from the moment you climb in there is a totally invincible feel about the surroundings. Shogun's road-holding capability was admirable, gripping the road through every turn. The Outlander could easily double as a family vehicle and would even slot in with the school-run brigade. The Shogun would be better suited to an outdoor pursuits adventure.
