A case study: volunteering can further your career: Roni Robinson receives Halliburton MVP award for TEI E-filing activities.

Over the years, TEI 1. (communications) TEI - Terminal Endpoint Identifier.

has been fortunate to have many members volunteer to participate in technical and other activities. One member was recently recognized by her employer for her work on a TEI task force.

Roni Robinson, Tax Specialist with Halliburton Company in Houston, recently received Halliburton's MVP (Multimedia Video Processor) A high-speed DSP chip from Texas Instruments, introduced in 1994. Officially introduced as the TMS320C80, it combines RISC technology with the functionality of four DSPs on one chip.  award for her activities with the TEI-IRS Forms and Attachments Task Group. For the past year, Ms. Robinson has worked with the task group to make the agency's Modernized mod·ern·ize

E-file project for large corporations more administrable.

TEI President Michael P. Boyle called Ms. Robinson's award well deserved. "We are pleased that Halliburton has recognized that Roni's work to make e-filing more administrable also benefits the company. She brings a wealth of expertise and experience to the task group. These abilities are one reason TEI recently nominated Roni to serve on the IRS's Electronic Tax Administration Advisory Committee."

Mr. Boyle added that all the TEI members who served on the task group deserve recognition for their efforts. "This group has made several trips to Washington to work with the IRS An abbreviation for the Internal Revenue Service, a federal agency charged with the responsibility of administering and enforcing internal revenue laws. , held numerous conference calls, and made valuable contributions to the administration of this mandate. "TEI may have had misgivings about the IRS's rapid implementation of the e-filing mandate," he concluded, "but we are fortunate to have dedicated members such as Roni involved to smooth out the significant bumps in the road."

The other members of the joint task group are R. Don Blaicher and Earl H. Efraimson of ExxonMobil Corporation; Frederick R. Holt of American Financial Group, Inc.; and William J. Marx of General Motors Corporation; with TEI staff support being provided by Eli J. Dicker dick·er
