A broken man after 17 years in Chinese prison.


"He no longer recognizes me, [had] a totally dull look in his eyes, and kept repeating words over and over as if he were chanting a mantra mantra (măn`trə, mŭn–), in Hinduism and Buddhism, mystic words used in ritual and meditation. A mantra is believed to be the sound form of reality, having the power to bring into being the reality it represents. ."

The brother of recently released Chinese journalist Yu Dongyue Yu Dongyue (Chinese: 喻东岳; Hanyu Pinyin: Yù Dōngyuè) is a former Chinese journalist imprisoned for almost 17 years in China, for throwing paint-filled eggs onto the large portrait of Mao Zedong on Tiananmen Gate in Beijing during the Tiananmen Square , Yu Xiyue recounted the incident where his sibling threw red paint at a portrait of Mao Tse-tung during the 1989 Tiananmen Square Tiananmen Square, large public square in Beijing, China, on the southern edge of the Inner or Tatar City. The square, named for its Gate of Heavenly Peace (Tiananmen), contains the monument to the heroes of the revolution, the Great Hall of the People, the museum of  massacre, a crime that earned him nearly two decades of inhuman treatment.
