A brighter future: a new LV projector range offers WXGA and XGA resolution.

Summary: Canon Middle East announces a new line-up of projectors in their 'LV' range. The new widescreen WXGA (Wide XGA) A wide screen resolution of 1366x768 pixels. See PC display modes.

The term stems from IBM's XGA display standard introduced in 1990, which extended VGA to 132-column text and interlaced 1,024x768x256 resolution. XGA-2 later added non-interlaced 1,024x768x64K.  models, the LV-7375, the LV-7370, and the LV-7275, offer improved brightness, seamlessly mixing high cost performance with low cost price.

Canon Middle East announces a new line-up of projectors in their 'LV' range. The new widescreen WXGA resolution LV-8300 and all three new XGA models, the LV-7375, the LV-7370, and the LV-7275, offer improved brightness, seamlessly mixing high cost performance with low cost price.

The LV-8300 is the first WXGA projector to be added to the range, offering wide-aspect resolution (1280 x 800 pixels) and an ultra-bright 3000 lumens. With 2600 lumens, the new LV-7275 replaces the LV-7265, while the LV-7365 is replaced by the LV-7370, at 3000 lumens. For even more brightness, Canon introduces a new 3500 lumens model, the LV-7375. Two previous models, the LV-X7 and the LV-7260, have now been discontinued.

"Sleek, ultra-portable design, instant startup options and exceptional easy-to-use functionality make these projectors ideal for meeting rooms, conference facilities, mobile professionals and learning environments" said Sam Oommen, Product Manager, Canon Middle East. "Their compact design and intuitive controls make them well suited to many corporate and educational applications."

High resolution, high performanceWXGA projections come from the smaller 0.59" panel with a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:10, while transmissive 0.63" LCD panels are used to produce XGA images with an aspect ratio of 4:3.

A powerful new 230W lamp is used across the range with the addition of micro-lenses, on the LV-7370, LV-7375 and LV-8300, to further enhance performance. The bright images yielded by these new models range between 2600 and 3500 lumens, enabling projections to be viewed clearly, even in areas with high ambient light levels. For larger spaces, the LV-7375 is most suitable, with its ultra-bright 3500 lumens output.

A contrast ratio of 500:1 allows colours to be displayed with greater vibrancy, whilst black areas remain deep and solid.

Projection versatility Where traditional projections support colour correction for eight types of screen, the new LV range's Screen Colour Compensation function can adapt to and correct colour distortion on any surface, including greenboards and whiteboards. Auto Keystone Correction is also included on all models, to automatically compensate for the trapezium trapezium /tra·pe·zi·um/ (-um) [L.]

2. the most lateral bone of the distal row of carpal bones.

tra·pe·zi·um
n. pl.
distortion which occurs when the projector is set at an angle.

Multimedia presentations are enhanced by the powerful built-in 7W speaker and operational noise needn't distract audience attention thanks to a Quiet mode setting, which reduces operating noise to just 29dB(A).

Superior connectivity

A DVI-I (DVI-Integrated) See DVI.  port is standard across the range, enabling the very best image quality from digital sources. The digital input supports the HDCP protocol, assuring compatibility with most commercially available digital content. For the first time in the LV range, an on-board RJ-45 network terminal is also included, allowing remote control and monitoring via an Ethernet network. This feature is invaluable for any educational or corporate establishment that requires centralised Adj. 1. centralised - drawn toward a center or brought under the control of a central authority; "centralized control of emergency relief efforts"; "centralized government"

Size mattersCanon LV projectors have always been known for their portable and stylish designs, and the new range is no exception. A carrying handle is cleverly incorporated into the body of each model. The curved design and ambient colour scheme, including pearl whites and greys, lend an air of sophistication so·phis·ti·cate

The new integrated lens cap eliminates the risk of dust entering the focus mechanism and protects the lens when travelling.

The new high-efficiency projector lamp lasts up to 4000 hours (with continuous use of the Quiet Mode) and replacing it is a simple process. Ease of useDirect Power On starts up the projector when a connected computer is switched on, while the Quick Start function means that the unit is ready to display images just 8 seconds after power on. Power management can be set to automatically switch the unit off after use, and just 3 watts are used in the standby mode A sleep mode in a portable computer that provides an almost immediate resumption of operation when turned back on. In standby mode, the hard disk and display are turned off, and the CPU is throttled down to its lowest-power state. .
