A blind spot. (Letters to the Editor).


If The Progressive has a blind spot, it is the promotion of our industrial economy, which is at the root of many ills, particularly pollution and war. The latest example can be found in the Comment ("Bush's Sleights of Hand," July July: see month.  issue), which argues that tax cuts for the poor will benefit the economy more than giving tax breaks to the rich. You argue the poor would spend the money on dishwashers, fridges, TVs, and cars.
