 after reading a play this year. I printed up an e-mail from the "producer" on oak-tag and presented it to the class. The producer was turning the play we'd we'd

we'd have ~would
 read into a movie and wanted character descriptions in order to pick the right actors and actresses. First we talked about how to describe characters. Then each student wrote a paragraph detailing the ideal characteristics for a particular character. A few minutes later, I pretended to hear my cell phone ringing. I picked it up and pretended it was the producer. We put her "on speaker" and the class read their descriptions out loud. I pretended to be the only one to hear her and reiterated her positive feedback, pointing out good writing techniques The literature on journalling and creative writing has generated various writing techniques to encourage self-discovery and self-expression for those who may wish to expand their techniques or address issues of writer's block.  and descriptives.
