A YEAR OF DESPAIR AND HOPE.


Hurricanes. Earthquakes. Fires. Floods. Mother Nature's fury was felt worldwide in 2005.

At times, despair seemed to overwhelm us because of tragic events far away and nearby, such as the Metrolink crash in Glendale that killed 11 passengers and the mudslide in La Conchita that took the lives of 10 people.

But there was also the thrill of the USC Trojans
The phrase "USC Trojans" also refers to the University of Southern California student body in general.(Though it is not limited to student body) The women's athletic teams are referred to as "The Women of Troy.
