Melanie Anderson spoke out as Ian Shennan admitted causing the deaths of Paul Anderson, 48, and little Samantha Carr. Grieving grieving Mourning, see there Melanie, 46, , of Colne, Lancs, said: "I have lost two members of my family and I have got to pick up the pieces now. We just feel that the sentence does not fit the crime. "Today was meant to be a new beginning and we don't know how long it's going to take now before we can start putting things behind us." Mrs Anderson, who together with another girl survived the July, 2008, smash, said Shennan should have been jailed for five years. The crash happened on the A9 in the Scottish Highlands
The Scottish Highlands (A' GhĂ idhealtachd as Mr Anderson was going to the funeral of niece Vicky Pickering, 27, who had died in another car crash. He lost control while towing a caravan trying to avoid Shennan, of Elgin, who was overtaking, the high court in Edinburgh heard.
