It was a week of firsts for some of the winners across the worldwide professional tours, all of whom relied upon one golf ball, Titleist. From Colin Montgomerie Colin Stuart Montgomerie, OBE (born June 23, 1963) is a Scottish professional golfer often referred to by his nickname 'Monty'. He has had one of the finest careers in European Tour history, having won a record eight Order of Merit titles including a streak of seven consecutively  on the PGA European Tour The PGA European Tour is an organisation which operates the three leading men's professional golf tours in Europe: the elite European Tour, the European Seniors Tour and the developmental Challenge Tour. , to Carlos Franco Carlos Daniel Franco (born 24 May 1965) is a Paraguayan golfer.

Franco was born in Asunción, Paraguay. He comes from a poor background and grew up in a one-room, dirt-floor home.
 on the U.S. PGA Tour, to Dave Eichelberger Martin Davis Eichelberger, Jr. (born September 3, 1943) is an American professional golfer who has won several tournaments at both the PGA Tour and Champions Tour levels.

Eichelberger was born in Waco, Texas.
