A Victorian Christmas at dock.


THE sights, sounds and smells of a Victorian Christmas will come to the Albert Dock this weekend.

Choirs, free roast chestnuts and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future will all combine to create a magical atmosphere at the Liverpool tourist attraction's Victorian Fayre this Saturday and Sunday.

Joe Edge, director of the Albert Dock Company, said: "The Victorian Fayre marks the peak of the Christmas countdown and we want to bring a little festive joy into the lives of our visitors at this time of year.

On Saturday, a selection of local school choirs will sing Christmas carols A Christmas carol is a carol whose lyrics center on the theme of Christmas or that has become associated with the Christmas season even though its lyrics may not specifically refer to Christmas. The city’s seafaring heritage is brought to life within the historic Albert Dock.
 and Tate Liverpool Tate Liverpool is an art gallery and museum in Liverpool, Merseyside, England, and part of Tate, along with Tate St Ives, Cornwall, Tate Britain, London, and Tate Modern, London. The museum was an initiative of the Merseyside Development Corporation. , while Sunday is the final of the Century FM School Choir X-factor, with the finalists performing live on air.

There will also be plenty to see and do across the bars, restaurants and shops at the Dock.

Blue, Bar and Grill, the Panamerican Club and Ha!Ha! Bar and Canteen are offering complimentary mince pies, Circo and Babycream are providing chocolate shots for all their visitors, and Vinea will have minced pies, mulled wine and hamper offers.

Shiverpool Tours are bringing to life the ghosts of Dickens' A Christmas Carol to offer visitors free guided tours of the Albert Dock.
