A VICTORY MADE TO ORDER FOR AVC.Byline: Chris Cocoles Daily News Staff Writer History says Antelope Valley College Antelope Valley College is a comprehensive community college located in Lancaster, California, USA. Today's 1 p.m. game against Victor Valley at Apple Valley High School is the 12th meeting between the Marauders and Rams. Further, in a rivalry that began in 1987, Victor Valley has come within single digits of the Marauders just once, a 31-25 defeat in 1992. The rest of the series has been a yearly pummeling of the Rams. Among the worst: 70-0 in 1987, 55-13 in 1995, 48-0 in 1996 and 51-7 last year. So in what will be a non-winning, bowl-less season, at least AVC can remain perfect against its closest geographic rival. ``I could be wrong but I think that's important to this team,'' said coach Brent Carder, who will complete his 29th season with the Marauders (0-3, 3-6) today. Though AVC has dropped three straight, all to quality opponents, the Rams seemed poised for another easy victory against Victor Valley, which is just 1-8, 0-3 in the Foothill Conference's Northern Division. The Marauders also lost to Citrus, 13-3 at home last Saturday. Chad York made his quarterbacking debut and gets the starting call again today after completing just 2 of 16 for 53 yards moving over from wide receiver. ``He has a game under his belt now,'' Carder said of York, a freshman who might return to wide receiver next year with the two injured quarterbacks, Justin Holtfreter and Monte Gutowski, projected to return in 1999. ``Chad seemed much more comfortable this week. . . . He didn't beat us (in the Citrus game). He didn't make a bunch of mistakes or careless turnovers. . . . If he wants to play quarterback or wide receiver, it's really up to him.'' Notes: Defensive lineman John Wachsmuth won't suit up today after injuring his shoulder in the Citrus game. Another question mark is offensive lineman Michael Morris
