Geoffrey Boycott Geoffrey Boycott OBE (born October 21 1940) is a former Yorkshire and England cricketer. In an illustrious, but sometimes controversial career from 1962 to 1986, Boycott established himself as one of England's finest opening batsmen.  has joined the obsessive Twitter cult, recording for posterity that he would have loved to face this Australian attack on such a benign pitch, claiming: "My mum could hit Hauritz." Those who watched Boycs blocking the living daylights out of Ashley Mallett and Ray Bright at the Centenary Test in 1980 may struggle to concur with such optimism. But it is reassuring to know that, at the age of 68, the Greatest Living Yorkshireman is keeping up to speed with technology.
