This is a straightforward recording of some straightforward jazz trio The term trio in jazz usually refers to a group comprising a pianist, a double bass player and a drummer. He also performs in the bebop and contemporary jazz genres of jazz. He began with Jimmy Smith and also worked with Harry Connick, Jr. , Dave Stryker Dave Stryker (b. March 30 1957) is an American jazz guitarist. He has 20 CD’s as a leader to date, and has been a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and Kevin Mahogany. , and Mark Whitfield) supported by Larry Goldings on organ and Idris Muhammad on drums. All the compositions are by the late jazz guitarist Grant Green. All the performances are enjoyable, and the sound quality is very good, making this an easily recommendable recording for those who enjoy the straightforward sound of a traditional guitar/organ/drums jazz trio.
