Michael, who has recently been selected for the RYA National Topper squad, has been a member of the Topper NE zone squad for the past two years. The St Aidan's School pupil has also achieved impressive results in 2007, including becoming the Trident-UK RYA NE Travellers Series champion. The youngster was selected to represent Great Britain Great Britain, officially United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, constitutional monarchy (2005 est. pop. 60,441,000), 94,226 sq mi (244,044 sq km), on the British Isles, off W Europe.
