A Ton of Crab to Be Consumed on Oregon's Historic North Coast at Popular Seafood Festival.
WHAT: In celebration of the bounty of the Pacific Ocean, the 23rd
annual Astoria-Warrenton Crab and Seafood Festival is
expected to lure more than 20,000 visitors to Oregon's
historic North Coast to feast on local seafood. The highlight
of the festival is a traditional crab dinner, where visitors
feast on fresh-caught Dungeness crab.
Attendees of the event -- set amongst the breathtaking
backdrop of Young's Bay and Saddle Mountain -- can enjoy a
variety of local, fresh seafood, wines from more than 40 of
Oregon's prestigious wineries, beers from around the state,
and live entertainment. Visitors can also take in more than
200 booths featuring regional artisans displaying their work.

-- Sunday: 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
WHERE: The Crab and Seafood Festival is held at the Clatsop County
Fairgrounds. Free shuttle service is available from area
hotels, campgrounds and park-and-ride locations at the Port
of Astoria and Astoria High School. Astoria is on Oregon's
Historic North Coast, where the Columbia River meets the
Pacific Ocean, just 70 miles from Portland. It is the oldest
American settlement west of the Rockies, and has a rich
maritime history. Once referred to as the "Canning Capital of
the World," Astoria is still home to a working waterfront as
well as art galleries, restaurants, shops, Victorian homes,
community theater and museums, notably the internationally
acclaimed Columbia River Maritime Museum, and nearby Ft.
Clatsop where Lewis and Clark wintered in 1805-6.
COST: Admission for the festival is $5 on Friday and Sunday, and $8
on Saturday. Admission is $1 for kids 12 years-old and under,
and $3 for people 62 years-old and older.
