To put the icing on the cake, the program won first place for Best Overall Program of a Medium Installation at the National Single Marine Program Conference held in September 1999. Many other Single Marine/Sailor Program activities were offered during the year such as: Summer Splash, Pool Party, Singled Out, Karaoke karaoke (Japanese; “empty orchestra”) Use of a device that plays instrumental accompaniments to songs with the vocal tracks removed, permitting the user to sing the lead. Contest, Midnight Madness Bowling, Racquet Ball tournament, Beat the Heat Bash, Reggae Fall Jam and Beach Bash, and Moonlight Volleyball. |
