At its meeting today, the board of directors of Le Groupe Videotron ltee formed a committee made up of four directors to begin studying the offer submitted to Groupe Videotron shareholders by Media Acquisition Inc. The members of the committee are Frederick W. Benn, Germaine Gibara, Jacques Girard and J. Gilles Nolet. The committee will report to the board which will then mail its recommendation in a circular to shareholders, as soon as possible but no later than September 5, 2000. Media Acquisition mailed its formal offer to purchase all of the outstanding common shares of Groupe Videotron on Monday, August 21, 2000.
