Oxygen re-ups those animated, classy, pajama-clad women that graced the programming schedule in 2000. "X-Chromosome," Oxygen's incubator series for animation will return March 23, 2001 with an extended format; "Exhale with Candice Bergen," Oxygen's nightly series of stimulating conversation begins its second season in January 2000; and "Pajama Party," the time-honored female tradition that brings celebrity guests and fun to late-night returns December 2, 2000, it was announced by Geoffrey Darby, president of production, Oxygen. Oxygen's new movie package will feature updated titles like: Inventing The Abbotts, She's The One, Waiting To Exhale, French Kiss, Barcelona, The Piano and Enchanted April and will debut at 9:00 p.m. on January 22, 2001. "Trackers Connects: Talking Sex" A World AIDS Day Special provides a forum for young people to talk honestly and openly about sex and HIV airs December 1, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. Also, "Oxygen's First Auction" on December 18 at 8:00 p.m. makes it possible to find the perfect gifts for loved ones this holiday season without leaving the couch.

The award-winning "X-Chromosome" was created as an incubator for unique animation styles from female animators. The compelling stories and second season begins with a special one-hour episode on March 23, 2001 featuring extended 11-minute formats of returning segments "Hey Monie," "Avenue Amy" and "Bitchy Bits." New this season are three-minute stop-motion animated segments from award-winning director/writer/producer Corky Quakenbush. These segments will be parodies of popular chick flicks with the pilot episode, entitled "Pretty Woman 2: Runaway Hooker Bride," spoofing these two Richard Gere and Julia Roberts films. "Drawn From Life" will also return as a 4-minute segment. "Hey Monie," created by Tom Snyder Productions, explores the life and longings of a single African-American women in urban America; "Avenue Amy," created by Amy Sohn, author of Run Catch Kiss, takes an animated look at the life of twenty-something hipsters looking for love and happiness in the big city; and "Bitchy Bits" based on the award-winning comic-book series "Naughty Bits," is a viciously true, insightful bit of life as lived by Midge McCracken. "Drawn from Life," which won the Grand Prize for Best Commissioned Film at this year's Ottawa International Animation Festival, is a fresh form of portraiture that shows the ordinary can literally and figuratively be illustrated in an extraordinary manner.

Oxygen's nightly hour-long talk show, "Exhale With Candice Bergen," features some of the most fascinating people in the worlds of entertainment, sports and politics. First season guests included Diane Keaton, Michael Douglas, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Jewel, among others. Beginning in January 2001, writer, photographer, Emmy(R) and Golden Globe(R) award-winning actress Candice Bergen will sit down with more of the most provocative and eclectic people of today including Charlize Theron, Carrie Fisher, Shirley McClaine, Ellen Burstyn and Jamie Lee Curtis. Beautiful, low-tech, intimate, whimsical and sophisticated, "Candice" is a dynamic meeting of the minds.

"Pajama Party" is returning to Oxygen with a brand-new season full of late night entertainment -- celebrity sleepovers, cool musical performances, "groovy grannies" and other great trailblazing guests. The first episode, airing Saturday December 2, 2000 at 11:00 p.m., will feature comedian and former host of "Talk Soup" Hal Sparks hanging out in his PJ's at the bachelorette pad with host Katie Puckrik. Future guests this season will include Christopher Titus of "Titus," Carmen Electra of Scary Movie, Katey Segal of "Married With Children," Roma Maffia of "Profiler," actress Kathy Najimy and rapper Coolio.

In recognition of World AIDS Day, Oxygen will broadcast "Trackers Connects: Talking Sex," its first real-time peer discussion between young men and women in South Africa and in the United States on December 1, 2000 at 8:00 p.m. The special prime time edition of "Trackers," the show for young women, dispels taboos and builds empathy through honest explorations among HIV infected young people, AIDS experts and counselors, and affected family and friends. Participants openly and candidly discuss how the AIDS epidemic is affecting their lives and the cultural, economic and political reasons behind it. "Trackers" connects with South African youth because they are living in a country with one of the world's highest HIV infection rates.
