Not anymore. The new, state-of-the-art, MAVIX MediaRacer 4000, to be introduced at IFSEC 2001 in Birmingham UK (21 - 24 May 2001) allows to send 4 video streams over a single network port featuring high quality, full motion video (25/30 frames per second), at a cost similar to most existing single stream solutions. This new solution includes, at no additional cost, 2 bi-directional audio channels as well as several digital input/output ports and serial data ports.

MediaRacer 4000 is not the only MediaRacer family member to be unveiled at IFSEC. MAVIX MediaRacer 1000 is another brand new product, offering the best entry point price tag for surveillance solutions.

MediaRacer 1000 is a unique solution in the market, combining very attractive pricing with the widest range of video quality capabilities available in a single product, supporting network bandwidths up to 8 Mbps. This capability assures constant improvement of the surveillance service, as bandwidth availability increases in growing time and budgets.

MediaRacer 1000 features high quality full motion video at CCIR See ITU.  601 PAL/NTSC resolutions with extremely low latency, which makes it best suited for "mission critical" implementations requiring precise PTZ PTZ Pan-Tilt-Zoom (camera)

MediaRacer 1000 features 4 video ports, an internal Video Matrix, and in addition - a bi-directional audio channel, several digital input/output ports and serial data ports.

Adam Rosenberg, MAVIX's Vice President of Sales and Marketing, said that "MAVIX has developed these new products after studying the trends in the surveillance market and after identifying the type of solution applicable to future demands. The options over IP networks are increasing and MAVIX has always lead this market. These products will offer fresh and exciting alternatives. A good example is the need for a total turn-key solution (video, audio and data) in projects that are basically defined as Access Control projects. Furthermore, while CCTV CCTV

All MediaRacer products feature IP multicasting A one-to-many transmission of data over an IP network. It is used for a myriad of purposes including updating routers, announcing and discovering services and streaming media. IP multicast saves network bandwidth, because packets are transmitted as one stream over the backbone and only  and are fully managed by MAVIX's MAVIEW SW Management Package. The products are also compliant with MAVIX's Virtual Matrix architecture, which makes them the most suitable solution for large installations. At the same time they support non managed operation, providing a cost effective solution for small implementations.

The MediaRacer 1000 is available for immediate orders. The MediaRacer 4000 will be released in September 2001.
