The Golden Cougars (26-10) struck big in the sixth inning against Ravin (6-2), who had held Kennedy hitless through five innings and struck out eight. Kennedy's Jacob Miranda led off the sixth with a single to right and Nestor Macias followed with another single. Momentum further shifted two batters later when Brandon Ashford appeared to strike out, but as he walked away from home plate, the call was ruled a ball, and his at-bat continued.
