STEVE Shaw, from Cardiff, had a busy three hours in the Newport AA evening match at Woodstock Pond.

He caught a succession of F1 carp and finish with 48lb in his keepnet. Cwmbran's Martin Challenger finished second with 29lb 8oz and Andrew Price Andrew Price (April 2, 1854 - February 5, 1909) was a U.S. Representative from Louisiana.

Born on Chatsworth plantation, near Franklin, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana, Price attended various private schools.

Howells also paid a visit to Cantref Reservoir where the trout were moving in the cooler water and he caught a limit bag.
