A REAL GARDEN SPOT.Byline: - Eric Noland KULA, Hawaii Kula is a district of East Maui, Hawaii that stretches across the "up-country", the western-facing slopes of Haleakala, from Makawao to Ulupalakua. Most of the residential areas lie between about 500 to 1,100 m (1,800 ft to 3,700 ft) in elevation. - All of Upcountry Maui seems to be a botanical garden at times - growing randomly and riotously RIOTOUSLY, pleadings. A technical word properly used in an indictment for a riot, and ex vi termini, implies violence. 2 Sess. Cas. 13; 2 Str. 834; 2 Chit. Cr. Law, 489. . To examine tropical flora in a more controlled environment, however, visit any of a number of botanical gardens in Kula Kula can refer to: Geographic locations
Enchanting Floral Gardens: The horticulture here is kept in check, but only just - which is in keeping with the spirit of the region. Also intriguing are a Kona coffee tree (if your timing is good, it will be loaded with berries) and the brilliantly colored coral tree. A walkway follows a meandering loop, and all the botanical species are well-marked - valuable intelligence in the event you want to try some of these varieties in your garden back home. --On Highway 37, two miles north of the 37-377 junction; open daily 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; admission $5 adults, $1 children; (808) 878-2531. Kula Botanical Garden Kula Botanical Garden (6 acres) is a botanical garden located on Kekaulike Highway (Highway 377) near the Kula Highway (Highway 37) junction, Maui, Hawaii. It is open daily; an admission fee is charged. : Great pains have been taken here to feature tropical plants from all over the world, which is a little disappointing, because it would be much more interesting to see plants native to Hawaii or even the South Seas. Areca palm from Madagascar? Glory bush from Brazil? African cranes at the koi pond? None of it makes much sense. Equally puzzling is the inclusion of common ground covers found all over Southern California, from gazania n. 1. any plant of the genus Gazania valued for their showy daisy flowers. Noun 1. gazania - any plant of the genus Gazania valued for their showy daisy flowers flower - a plant cultivated for its blooms or blossoms to freeway daisies. At least the six-acre botanical garden, established in 1968, has had plenty of time for everything to get firmly established and grow lushly. There are huge birds of paradise plants and a mature koa tree - a Hawaii native that produces wood highly prized by craftsmen. --At 638 Kekaulike Ave. in Kula (off Highway 377, seven-tenths of a mile from Highway 37); open daily 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; admission $5 adults, $1 children; (808) 878-1715.
